Never. The code encodes your content directly — there is no redirect service in the middle, so it works forever.
PNG or SVG — which should I download?
Use PNG for documents and screens. Use SVG for print: it scales to any size (business card to billboard) without losing sharpness.
What is error correction?
Higher error correction makes the code readable even if partly damaged or covered, at the cost of a denser pattern. Level M or Q is a good default.
